began to be written by two Barcelonans, Dr. Alfredo Rubio de Casterlenas and Prof. José Luis Socías Bruguera, when they were lecturing to university students in Xian ( China ) on March, 1989. They were aware that during the XX century many wars had occurred. Their remembrance and pain were still present without healing the causes that originated them. The fact is that they were spurred by the sorrow of many people without a minimum of peace with themselves. They specify, in a draft, some criteria that could help for a better coexistence and peace between individuals and in society.
The Letter of Peace continued being written for four years. During this period more than a hundred study and dialog meetings were held in Barcelona and other cities in Spain, some other countries in Europe and in America . Professors and other experts from these places were invited to the meetings as well as representatives from Africa and Asia .
